Looking for tickets to New York Fashion Week?
“Fashion month” (as it’s sometimes called) kicks off with New York Fashion Week in February and September. (It’s followed by London, then Milan, and finally Paris.)
Arguably, one of the best things about New York Fashion Week is that it creates something of a “level playing field” between established and emerging talent. You might tune in to see a Tom Ford show the same day as a designer you’ve never heard of: whether that’s a student showcasing at the Art Institutes, at a “collective” showcase like Concept Korea, or at one of the many independent producers that make up NYFW.
Another good thing about NYFW is that there are numerous open-to-the-public events, from pop-up shops to charity fundraisers (like Go Red for Women), ticket giveaways, and shows that allow the public to attend in the form of ticket sales.
If you’re looking for tickets to New York Fashion Week, take a look at upcoming opportunities.
And if you’re looking to attend as press, there are several tips to keep in mind:
a) If you have a strong social media following, say so! (See item b.)
b) Reach out to designers’ PR companies directly. Be courteous and professional, and let them know what you have to offer them. (Saying it’s your “dream to attend fashion week” doesn’t tell them much about WHY they should invite you.)
c) Check out the fashion week calendar for more opportunities.
d) Learn how to apply as press.
Have fun at fashion week!
